Painting Project
The most helpful warm up was the skin tone warm up because the whole background of my painting was a skin tone so I needed to know how to make it. My painting wasn't a place, I did places in all of my drawing projects so I did surrealism. I came up with this idea because I like space and combining it with a face seemed like a cool idea. The most challenging part of this was definitely painting the eyelashes because I couldn't get them to look realistic enough and that was frustrating. I think either the freckles or the eyebrows are what I'm most proud of. I think the stars look pretty cool and the way I layered the paint made it look super cool. First I painted the background, then I sketched in where I wanted the nose, eyebrows, and eyes. I then painted the eyes white. Then I did the eyebrows. Then I painted the Earth. Next I did the star freckles, then the eyelids, then the brown freckles, and finally I did the eyelashes.
Painting Warm Ups
I learned how to work with the paint. I've never used acrylic paint before so the warm ups showed me how do use the paint without messing with my project. The skin tones warm up was definitely the most helpful because a skin tone was my entire background of my painting. The color match also helped me a lot because sometimes I had to remix the paint for the skin tone so knowing how to match it definitely helped. You can make brown by mixing red and green, yellow and purple, or blue and orange. You can tone a color down by adding white to the color.
Drawing Project
The warm up most helpful this unit was the blind contour warm up. I feel like out of all of my other warm ups, that one was the best looking one. It was also the most fun to do.

Inspired Artists
The artist I chose is Hollie Chastain. She is from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She uses vintage novel covers for her artworks
She even wrote a book about how to do what she does.
She makes collages.
She started making art in 2009.
She inspires me because in Ms Purtee's class we made collages and it was very fun. I really liked making the collages and hers are really cool.
